Stan Barnes

Stan Barnes is a graphic designer and typographer, currently studying Visual Communication Design at Ravensbourne University London. His work explores the themes of stress, personal growth and living/creating work as a dyslexic person.

Barnes primarily uses digital platforms such as photoshop. He expands his work through analog technology, such as mark making and 3D cutouts. Barnes is influenced by his South London upbringing, especially through his friends and family, as well as street art. His work communicates a message of self acceptance.

Research Zine This is a hand made zine which Barnes used to summarise the research found for his project on the connection between neurodiversity and creativity.

Brain Scan TypographyThis is a typeface created out of the brain scan of Temple Grandin, a famous autistic scientist. Barnes created it using image trace on illustrator. The type face celebrates the unique differences of the autistic brain.
