Nikol Yeremieva

Nikol Yeremieva is a third-year student studying for her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and Environment Architectures at Ravensbourne University London. Her passion for interior design began from a very young age through her strong interest in art. Throughout her childhood and teenage years, she attended various art clubs and competitions, where she developed her artistic skills and learned to express ideas visually through different mediums. These early experiences helped shape her creative identity and strengthened her interest in design and visual storytelling.

After completing her A- Levels in Fine Art and 3D Design, she realised that interior design and architecture combined all the elements she was most passionate about, including creativity, technical thinking, atmosphere, and human interaction within spaces. This led her to pursue a degree focused on spatial and environmental design, where she continues to develop her skills and understanding of the relationship between people and the built environment.

Her curiosity and love for travel play an important role in shaping her design approach. Experiencing different cultures, architecture, materials, and environments has influenced the way she observes spaces and understands the emotional impact design has on users. She has a strong attention to detail and a particular interest in materiality, textures, lighting, and atmosphere. Her work focuses on creating thoughtful and immersive spaces which balance aesthetics, functionality, and user experience through carefully considered design decisions.

The Palace Cinema is transformed into a luxury night-time bar and private daytime nursery with the aim that these will be accessible to the general community, allowing everyone to experience luxury and true comfort. The idea of creating enjoyable spaces for everyone should be a design approach we all strive to have. This project reveals how designing luxury can be for everyone because a great design doesn’t just consist of expensive materials, but also composition, style and enthusiasm to create something out from the ordinary. The aim of the project is to allow the community to blend in with professionals, bringing more wealth into Kentish Town and creating better opportunities for young adults and children.

The bar will allow for people to socialise by mixing class groups, achievable through its inhouse winery which will provide a more affordable menu. Meanwhile, the nursery will welcome children from single parent families in order to support learning for the community. The project creates a beautiful cycle facilitating for wealth to be drawn into Kentish Town and simultaneously, helping the growth and progression of the community.
