Rooted in Kentish Town’s cultural heritage, this project reimagines a historic building as a shared laundromat and speakeasy, preserving its architectural fabric while fostering community connection. The design integrates reclaimed brick, timber, and steel from the original cinema structure, maintaining its character and reducing waste. By merging everyday routines with social interaction, the space becomes a hub for local residents, celebrating inclusivity and continuity. Environmental strategies and adaptive reuse honour the site’s legacy, transforming heritage into a living framework for sustainable, communal engagement.
