Joseph Pain is a Level 4 Cyber Security student at Ravensbourne University London with a growing passion for cyber awareness, digital resilience, and the development of technology-driven educational solutions. Motivated by the increasing prevalence of cybercrime and the vulnerability of younger generations to online threats, Joseph has focused his academic work on creating practical approaches to cybersecurity education that are both engaging and impactful.
As the creator of Cypher, an innovative cybersecurity awareness platform, Joseph sought to address the misconception that cyber scams predominantly affect older adults. Drawing upon contemporary cybercrime statistics and behavioural research, he designed a concept that combines the accessibility and engagement of gamified learning platforms with cybersecurity education. The project aims to equip teenagers and digitally active young adults with the knowledge and critical thinking skills required to recognise, avoid, and respond to online threats.
Joseph’s work demonstrates a strong ability to identify real-world security challenges and translate them into user-centred solutions. Through research, design thinking, and an understanding of emerging cyber risks, he has shown a commitment to making cybersecurity knowledge more accessible to wider audiences.
With interests spanning cybersecurity awareness, secure digital behaviour, and educational technology, Joseph continues to develop his technical and professional skills while exploring innovative ways to strengthen cyber resilience across society. His work reflects a belief that effective cybersecurity begins not only with technology, but with informed and empowered users
