Jemima Adeoye

Jemima Adeoy is a womenswear designer whose work explores femininity and conceptual storytelling. She takes inspiration from real life issues and her own cultural influences, her designs communicate ideas through silhouette and textile pieces she explores through traditional printmaking and digital printmaking. She focuses on sustainability incorporating repurposed and upcycled garments as well as secondhand and deadstock materials, creating garments that are creative and rooted in a story.

Sustainable White
Sustainable White – This project was an exploration of medical negligence. Adeoye drew on her own experience of medical neglect in the case of her grandfather. This garment was a representation of her last hug with him. Focusing on the sustainability aspect the main bodice was made from old bedsheets and plastic bottles were cut up and repurposed to make a secondary layer bodice

Stratum Q – This project focused on humans turning to nature as a way to protect their privacy due to the modern technological advances.

Restriction of Nigerian Motherhood – Illustration of Adeoye's final line up for this project. This project explored how Nigerian society and community place pressure on women to become mothers and idolise motherhood as a woman's only respectable form of identity in society
