Ivone Jung do Amaral

Ivone Jung do Amaral is a Portuguese-Korean textile designer dedicated to exploring innovative mediums and materials in her projects. At the core of her practice is a profound commitment to sustainability, specifically through the upcycling of clothing and discarded materials. For her Final Major Project, she is questioning herself as a creative practitioner and how she can protest the issue of pollution in her work by creating a textile from waste materials.

Next year, whilst studying a bachelor’s in Textile Design at Central Saint Martins, Ivone intends to deepen her research into regenerative biomaterials. Additionally, she aims to build technical confidence and precision in structural techniques such as knitting and weaving to further elevate her sustainable design methodology.
