Ignacio Mac Gregor

Ignacio Mac Gregor is a product designer born in Guadalajara, Mexico, completing his final year of product design at Ravensbourne University London. His work is defined by a tension between restraint and character: clean forms, and minimal material palettes that carry something unexpected, a sharp contrast, a proportion held just slightly off-balance, a detail that gives the object its edge.

Raised across Mexico and the United States, and now based in London, Mac Gregor has absorbed design languages from multiple traditions: the boldness and craft heritage of Mexican design, the ornamental richness of European architecture, and the directness of contemporary British design. The result is a designer who approaches beauty not as a single standard but as something universal, expressed differently depending on where you're standing.

His Final Major Project, Barro, is a handcrafted hi-fi stereo system that brings together barro negro ceramic baffles from the Oaxacan craft tradition, oak veneer enclosures, and hand-braided cables referencing Mexican textile culture. The project is characteristic of a broader approach: work that is technically grounded, culturally considered, and resolved down to the last detail.

Alongside Barro, his portfolio spans furniture design, sustainable packaging, eyewear, electronic product design, and commercial giftware. He has been interning at a London packaging design studio since 2025 and works under the name IMGB London.
