Farjana Hassan is a modern, fashion stylist specialising in creating fashion looks that are inspired by both elements of modern and glamorous fashion. She takes inspiration from red carpet fashion and wants to create her own looks that bring in an element of fun and immersion. Hassan styles fashion for the new generation, wanting to create more engaging moments at fashion events. She likes to create work that are both fun and nostalgic, which is why she took inspiration from iconic childhood movies like Up, Wicked, Frozen and Barbie Swan Lake, to create her Final Major Project fashion looks.
“UP” Movie Inspired Fashion Look – A fashion style created for a potential movie premiere red carpet, for an “UP” live-action movie. The main inspiration taken from the movie for this look was the “balloons holding up the house”. As this is an iconic moment and factor of the film, Hassan decided to have the balloons as the main highlight for the look. She wanted to make this look fun, but modern, so it is styled with a simple soft white dress, to keep the main focus on the colourful balloons.
“Frozen Three” Movie Inspired Fashion Look – Hassan took inspiration and created a fashion look for a potential movie premiere red carpet for “Frozen Three”. She took direct inspiration from the main movie focus, ice and snow. Which is why she decided to hand make and embellish an umbrella to give it that “snowfall” effect. Hassan styled the umbrella with a garment that resembles crystals and ice, again focusing on the main ice element.
“Wicked” Movie Inspired Fashion Look – Another red carpet fashion look created by Hassan for a potential trilogy for the live-action movie “Wicked”. She styled a look inspired by the movie character “Glinda”. She wanted to take the “fairy princess” element from this character, she decided to create arm and ankle bracelets, in the theme of flower vines, which was then styled together with a princess style garment.
“Barbie Swan Lake” Movie Inspired Fashion Look – Hassan decided to create a style that is inspired by a potential movie premiere for “Barbie Swan Lake” live-action. She created this look using modern garments and accessorised them to be more glamorous, with handmade movie inspired accessories, a feather corset and headpiece.
