Emmi MacArthur

Emmi MacArthur is a Foundation student in Design and Media, specialising in the Visual Communications pathway. Her skill set includes fine art, illustration, and digital media, reflecting a curiosity for exploring a range of visual approaches and techniques. Through this experimentation, she has developed a strong interest in spatial design, particularly in how environments can communicate a narrative and atmosphere. She got her first taste of industry standards and briefs during her collaboration with the brand TRAID, for which she worked with five other students to design the 2026 Spring/Summer store concept.

MacArthur's work demonstrates an understanding of composition and visual storytelling, often drawing on both conceptual thinking and practical application. She is especially interested in the relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit, a topic that fuelled her Final Major Project where she explored the question “What makes a space a home?”.

Looking ahead, MacArthur plans to pursue Entertainment Design at Birmingham City University, where she aims to further develop her ability to design immersive environments at a practical and professional level. This step forward will allow her to channel her passion into technical skill within industry-like environments.
