Haoyi Zhang (Amy Zhang)
Amy Zhang is a womenswear designer whose work explores the relationship between body, memory and garment structure. Her design practice often begins with personal or historical narratives, translating emotional tension into sculptural silhouettes, layered textiles and experimental surface treatments.
Her current collection, Ring a Ring o’ Roses, investigates garments as systems of protection, restriction and control over the female body. Referencing plague doctor dress, Gothic architecture, body compression and fragile lace structures, the project moves from concealment and restraint towards collapse and reconstruction.
Through draping, textile experimentation, reconstructed shirting and detailed fitting development, Zhang builds garments that carry both conceptual depth and physical tension. Her work sits within a high-end conceptual womenswear context, combining dark romantic imagery with technical garment-making, material sensitivity and a strong visual identity.
