Summer Staple

Summer Staple is a multidisciplinary creative specialising in photography and graphic design, whose work is grounded in storytelling and social observation. Her practice explores the intersection of visual culture and lived experience, using imagery and design as tools to document, question, and communicate.

At the core of her work is a sensitivity to place and identity, often drawing from her surroundings in South East London. Her project “Untold Stories” explores themes of gentrification, capturing both the subtle and more visible transformations within local communities. Through her work, Staple highlights voices and perspectives that are frequently overlooked, encouraging dialogue around displacement, memory, and belonging.

Staple will be progressing to study Graphic Design at degree level, where she aims to further develop her practice and expand her approach to visual communication. Her work aims not only to observe, but also to provoke dialogue, challenge assumptions, and contribute to a more nuanced understanding of the social landscapes we inhabit.
