Helin Yurtseven

Helin Yurtseven is a multidisciplinary designer and maker whose practice explores the intersection of symbolism, materiality, and human experience. Guided by curiosity and intuition, their work investigates the unseen emotional and psychological layers embedded within objects, images, and cultural narratives. Drawing influence from surrealism, mythology, and analytical psychology, Yurtseven approaches design as both a tactile and symbolic language capable of creating deeper forms of connection.

Working across physical making and conceptual storytelling, they are interested in how materials carry memory, meaning, and transformation. Their practice often bridges contemporary design with ancient archetypes, combining refined forms with emotional resonance. Through objects, textures, and visual narratives, Yurtseven explores themes of identity, ritual, belonging, and the poetic dimensions of everyday life.

Maran emerges from this exploration as a symbolic object rooted in themes of protection, fertility, and cyclical transformation. Inspired by Kurdish cultural motifs, grounded sitting and serpent symbol, the project translates ancestral narratives into a contemporary design language. Through pattern, form, and material presence, Maran invites reflection on the relationship between body, memory, and cultural inheritance.
