My practice focuses on UX design, research, and creating meaningful digital experiences. I’m interested in understanding how people interact with technology and how design can make digital experiences clearer, easier, and more engaging. 

I enjoy working closely with user research, testing, and problem solving to create designs that feel natural and accessible. I see myself as an empathetic and research driven designer who values simple communication and user centred thinking throughout the design process. 

 

Between The Lines 

Between The Lines is a reading app designed to change the way people experience books. Users can choose whether to read or listen to stories, customise their experience, and generate AI visuals to help them engage more deeply with the narrative. My role focused on UX research, user flows, and interface design to create an accessible and immersive experience. 

Another challenge was designing for different users. Research included people with dyslexia, visual impairments, and aphantasia (people who can’t form mental images in their mind). This showed that accessibility is not the same for everyone, and that different users need different kinds of support. As a result, the design became more flexible, allowing users to choose features such as visuals or audio depending on what helps them.

Research and feedback guided the process throughout. Concerns about declining habits, supported by OECD findings, reinforced the need to keep the experience engaging and accessible. At the same time, reading remains linked to language development, focus, and critical thinking, which are important for learning and future opportunities. Additional insights were gathered through conversations with professionals in publishing and journalism, as well as a media company founder. These perspectives supported the decision to enhance the experience rather than replace it. They also led to a simpler final design. The logo and concept focus on “between the lines,” representing how the app helps users interpret and understand text. In the end, the solution responds to real needs by improving understanding, reducing effort, and giving users control.
